Lawsons Birding and Wildlife Tours - Southern Africa

Lawson’s Birding and Wildlife Tours, a family owned business, specialises in arranging birding trips to the very finest localities in southern Africa, with particular attention often being paid to finding and observing the nearly 150 endemic species which occur nowhere else in the world. Contact us for an African wildlife experience second to none!

We also conduct 3 - 7 night (or more) safari tours to the Greater Kruger National Park, South Africa's premier wildlife destination. These run all year round and are aimed at providing a concise, authentic and enjoyable wildlife experience, both for the keen naturalist and the more casual African experience seeker.

Our tours aim to:

Be a holiday-of-a-lifetime experience for all participants.

Take in as much of the wildlife as possible without becoming overly rushed and exerting.

Provide a high-quality guided experience, with particular emphasis on specific areas of natural history, such as birds, mammals, botany, butterflies and dragonflies.

Contribute significantly to conservation through tourism and adhere to the strictest codes of ethical and moral conduct.

These tailor-made birding tours are masterminded by Peter Lawson, one of the region’s most experienced and highly-regarded naturalists. Many of the best birding localities we visit are in the numerous national parks and wildlife reserves of South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe, where pristine scenery and a host of exciting large mammals such as elephant, lion and leopard may also be seen.

Although we’ll find as many different birds as possible wherever we go, there is always time to enjoy the other wonders of nature.
