Have been teaching introductory "astronomy for poets" for 35 years. I have degrees in astronomy from Harvard and Berkeley, but, far more important that that, I still have a lot of zest for teaching.

Come Take a Class in Astronomy (day or evening)

At Foothill College, an inexpensive community college on the Peninsula south of San Francisco, we offer a full program of day and evening courses in "astronomy for poets" -- courses for beginners who are interested in astronomy for recreation. No background in math or science is assumed. We have students of all ages, from 15 to 80, particularly in the evening classes. In the spring, we also offer a popular course on "physics for poets" (subtitled, everything you wanted to know about Einstein's work, but were afraid to ask.)

Also, Foothill College sponsors the Silicon Valley Astronomy Lectures, a free program of six public lectures each year by noted astronomers, on recent developments in our exploration of the universe. For more information and MP3 files of past lectures, see:
